Lesson # 1
The Bhagavad Gita was imparted by Sri Krishna to Arjuna in the middle of the battle-field from where Arjuna could see and recognize well his friends and foes in the battle.
To Know That what has to be known, one should be well aware of the good and bad sides of ones nature and be established equidistant from the dualities arising from it.
Then only one can observe the world as an observer and not as an object within it and be ready to receive the Knowledge of Yoga (Union of atma and paramatma).
This is the pre-requisite of receiving the Gnan.
Simply reading a book gives only information and never wisdom.
